Kinko Peony Menuki

A nice set of Peonies in fine detail, rich colors, and nice condition. Thick shakudo plate with gold, silver, and copper details. Posts are fully intact.

Peonies are highly regarded as King among flowers, and commonly seen in Japanese art with Shishi dogs. This combination became popular in the Edo period due to the Noh play, “Shakkyo” or “The Stone Bridge”.

This set is not papered and is worthy of submission to shinsa. Great for mounting or collecting. A kiriwood box is included.
